Now for some inspiration...

I made this card using the 6"x6"  'Its a boy' paper pack from Craftangles by CraftAdda. I just love that, even though, this pack had predominently baby motifs, I was able to create a  card this is fun and adult.
I made this card on request for a friends sons 21st birthday. He is passionate about filmmaking, so I decide to use that as a theme.
I used a strip of film reel washi tape and created a reel using my ek success circle punches. I decided to add a celebratory element so I created the bunting using Mayarts jute twine and some coloured scotch tape.
I fished the card with a gold embossed sentiment from Hero Arts and the 21 die cut using Lawn Fawn's Quinn's 123 dies.
I think it has all come together quite nicely!

To inspire you some more,
this month I have the fabulous Barb Engler as my guest designer!
Those of you who follow Simon Says Stamp on Instagram and Flickr may know her as the hostess.

I was so happy when she agreed to be my guest designer for the month of April!

Here is what she has to say about herself.

Hi everyone!
I'm so happy to be guest designing this month for Paru and her Challenge!
I live in the upper Midwest of the U.S> in the state of Minnesota. I am now retired from being a floral department manager of a small grocery store.
Retirement means more time to create, which I love!

I started out years ago with scrapbooking, when my two boys were litttle.
That led to cardmaking, which I started in 2010.
I've always had a love for stamping, especially flowers, and more recently have fallen in love with coloring.
Coloring with Copics is my favourite, but, I love watercolor too. I also really like trying new and ddifferent techniques on my cards.

I must admit I was happy to find out the theme this month was 'Anything Goes'! That meant I could use some flowers for my card...YAY!
I decided to use a beautiful set designed by Wplus9.
It's called, Watercolour Anemones.
Since I love using different techniques on my cards, I decided to try a fun one for these flowers. They are solid stamps, with no space to actually colour, so I used the shadow technique to stamp them.

Using some fog coloured cardstock, I first stamped the flowers with white pigment ink, then used offset stamping with some bright pink ink to create that shadow effect.
A white embossed sentiment, some dashed, white gel pen lines around the edges and a few white sequins, finish off the card. I love the results!

Paru also asked me to create a tag.
With tags, my thought always goes to birthday gift tags, so that's what I made.
I thought a shaker tag would be fun!

I used the 'Lots of dots' stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
It's the perfect set fro creating fun, festive backgrounds!
For the shaker portion, I used the stitched Rectangle die set, also from Simon Says Stamp.
Just pick out some fun, bright colored ink and stamp your design-so easy.
I stamped the sentiment inside the shaker circle and added some sequins.
Stars or hearts stamp sets would work great for this too!

I hope I have inspired you to get out your stamps and try a different technique!

Love
Barb.
