INSPIRATION

To start off, I layered red and green Simon Says Stamp Stitched die cut panels on a white card base.
I then die cut the elf legs, put them upside down on a tag die cut and added the sentiment from Craftangles  'santa claus' stamp set.

I added some twine and some shiny stars and the card was done.
Quick and simple!

Here, I started out with a tag, die cut from Kraft card stock. On this I stamped the mason jar and christmas elements from a Hero Arts stamp set.
I coloured it in and used mu white gel pen to add some details for interest. The sentiment is from Craftangles 'Season's greeetings' stamp set.
I added some red and white bakers twine to finish the card.

I also made these super fun Santa
Claus gift envelopes. They are pretty simple.. a piece of black paper wrapped around the envelope and a square frame cut out of gold and silver glitter card stock, along with a stamped and fussy cut sentiment from Craftangles.

I hope these cards, inspire you to
bring out those Christmas goodies and come and play!

Now for some inspiration...

For this months's 3 colour challenge, I have made this fun shaker card! I have used a white card base, black and white twine and the three colours, red, yellow and green, to make this card.
I used Peek-a-boo scalloped circle die to make this shaker.
I used the die to cut seven scalloped circles, which I then stacked using Ranger multi medium matte. I added a piece of acetate before adding on the final layer of circle. I created a background using
Lawn Fawn's  'Sew Lovely' stamp set.
I placed the sentiment from MFT's 'Sew Nifty' stamp and die set across the shaker to finish the card.

For the tag, I started with a cream coloured tag, cut using MFT's 'tag you're it' stamp and die set.
I then stamped the gingham pattern in brown across the bottom of the tag. I added a bright yellow die cut sunflower (spellbinders), some Mayarts twine, a wooden button and some red sequins to finish the tag. The sentiment from Hero Arts, really pops on the checked background, don't you think?

To inspire you further, the fabulous Jasleen Kaur is in the house!!
Here's what she has to say...

Jasleen Kaur

Hello!
I'm Jasleen and i feel so happy to be invited over at Paru's Card Making Challenges
 as a Guest Designer.
I started my crafting and blogging journey three years ago when I accidently stumbled upon some beautiful handmade cards while surfing the internet.
Card making and quilling are what I enjoy most, and I'm more inclined towards Clean and Simple, minimalist style of card making.
I mostly draw my inspiration from the simple things I come across in day-to-day life, and when I need to recharge my mind with a creative dose of inspiration, visiting blogs of other card makers and crafters helps a lot.

You can view more of my workon my blog Happily Ever Crafter or my Instagram Account.

Thank You paru for this amazing opportunity.

I'm sharing a card and two tags I made keeping this month's challenge theme in mind, which is to use just three colours (other than black, white and kraft) on your card or tag.

Here is the card..

This clean and simple one-layered card
was made using floral stamps from
Happy Little Stampers 'Doodled flowers' stamp set.
I coloured them using Faber Castell watercolour pencils and connector pens.
The sentiment is from MFT's 'Donuts and Sprinkles' stamp set and
from Mudra's 'Mom I Love You' stamp set.
I have also stamped on the inside of the card.

To make the first tag, I die cut the scalloped  circle using the Sizzix framelits die-scalloped circles. That cup was make by hand, cutting and then scoring with the help of MS scoring tool and
bone folder, followed by sponging it with brown ink.
The yellow cake was made using felt and the 'cherry' on the top is a die cut heart.
The base was lightly sponged using distress ink-salty ocean and
the little cupcake was mounted over this base.

The second simple tag has the sentiment stamp from Inkadinkado 'Kids Quotes', which, is heat embossed in white over a kraft tag.
The umbrella and the cloud are stamps from Janes Doodles -Rain or Shine set.

I hope you feel inspired to play along with this month's colourful challenge!
Love
Jasleen.

I hope you have been inspired!
Happy Crafting!

Now for some inspiration...

This month our sponsor is

They have two adorable digis with us to show case.

The cute cow

and the adorable penguin.

To make the above cards and tags, I printed out the digis onto white card stock and die cut them using the stitched circles and stitched squares dies from Simon Says Stamp.
I then coloured another copy of the digi , fussy cut it and paper pieced it on to the die cut base.
This way I didn't have to cut around the fiddly bits like the tail or the bow.

I added hand drawn doodle lights to the background of the cute cow tag to add some interest. I did the same for the card too and added a red die cut circle to add further interest.
I then added a gold embossed on vellum Christmas sentiment from Hero Arts to card.
I finished off the tag and card with green and white bakers twine and a little bell for fun.

For the adorable penguin card and tag, I added embossed backgrounds, bakers twine and a bell for interest. Here too the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Here is some more inspiration for you from the absolutely fabulous

She was my first guest designer this year and,
thanks to her encouragement and support,
I have been able to keep this challenge blog going for the whole year!
A big THANK YOU Neha!

Hello friends,
I am excited to be here as Guest DT as this is one of my favourite challenge blog. Kudos to Paru! She is doing amazing job at making the challenges interesting and giving away some fabulous prices every month.
Today, I am sharing a card and a tag made using Kitty bee designs. They are cute holiday themed images which are fun to colour.

I printed them on a white Neenah Solar card stock, coloured  them with copics.
I made the snow dune using Ranger’s sea foam white embossing powder and Martha Stewart white glitter. Back ground snowflakes are embossed in white. Sentiment and snowflakes are Jane’s Doodles stamps. I fussy cut the roly poly penguin and mounted with 3d foam tape.
Here is the close up of glistening snow.

For the tag, I cut image with circle die.
Cut the tag for green CS and stencilled some stripes with distress ink.
Sentiment is from Paper trey ink .
I had fun making these cuties.
Give it a try, I am sure you will enjoy it too!
Thanks Paru for giving me this opportunity. Big Hug!

GD Gayatri Murali, take a bow!

Hello and welcome back!! As promised, here is some more inspiration for you from the simply fabulous Gayatri Murali! I am honoured that she took time in her extremely busy schedule to write this post for Paru's Card Making Challenges!
Here is what she has to say!

Our Guest Designer

Gayatri Murali

Hello everyone,
My name is Gayatri Murali also known as scrapawayg3 at various galleries.  I am a therapist by profession but chose to be a stay at home mom to my children.  I live in Perth, Australia with my husband, two teen children and my dog.  I have been papercrafting for past 10 years. I started with being a scrapbooker but now I am a full time card maker. My style is clean simple, bold and bright with a technique or two. Trends inspire me a lot. You can see a lot of trendy stuff on my cards.
I design for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog, Taylored Expressions, Winnie & Walter and Dirty Dozens at Splitcoaststampers.com. My Blog is called Handmade by G3.   My inspirations come from visiting blogs, going through magazine and Aha! Pinterest. I love Pinterest. I spend hours pinning and a great source of inspiration for colours. I am also active in social media links to which are there on my blog right side bar:)  I am a big fan challenges and I cannot wait to share my project for this month's challenge.

I am so happy to share that I am Guest Designing for Paru's Card Making Challenge Blog this month.

This month's challenge focuses on words.

And this is my take on the challenge. And I made both the card and coordinating tag.

Merry Christmas

I have made Christmas card and tag with focus on the sentiment. My card base is white and I stamped Christmas image from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Elsa's Flora stamp set using Fog ink from Simon Says Stamp only on the top of the card front. Then I die cut the In a Word: Merry from Winnie & Walter on Fog cardstock panel. I saved the Merry die cut for the tag. On the negative of the panel, I trimmed the panel from half of the negative Merry to the top. Then I inlaid the die cut Merry die cut using red cardstock. I wrapped red twine around this panel and tied a bow. I adhered this panel on the card front using foam adhesives.

Merry Christmas closeup

The secondary sentiment are from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold and the Merry stamp set. I white heat embossed the sentiment on green card stock strip and adhered as shown in the picture. Rose gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh completes the card.

Merry Christmas flat

I used the saved up fog coloured Merry die cut to make coordinating tag for the card.

Focus on words tag

The tag is die cut using fog and red cardstocks. The tag die is from Winnie & Walter's Essentials: Katharine Cutaway. I stamped the same image I stamped on the card on the fog tag using Lipstick Red ink from Simon Says Stamp. I layered the red tag over the fog tag and used a green twine to tie them together. I adhered the fog coloured Merry die cut saved from the making of the card on the red tag at an angle. The secondary sentiments are again from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold and the Merry stamp set. I simply stamped them on fog cardstock strips in black ink and adhered as shown in the picture. Finally, the Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh completes the tag. Here is both the card and tag together.

Focus on words challenge

So this is my take on the challenge: Focus on Words!  The words and colours make this card a Perfect Christmas card in spite of not have a Christmas themed focal image on the card.

Hope you are inspired by my card. Now its your turn to play along. For more details on how to play the challenge, please visit Paru's Card Making Challenge Blog.
